The Tuckers: September 2011

Our little gal is now 3 years old! In case you don't know, that also means she is a big girl who knows how to use her cuteness to get what she wants and permanently lives in Lucia-land, where she is the princess. First off.... She turned 3 back in August 12th, so.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS!

Just when I think she's at the most fun age, she surprises me. Because I guarantee this age is pretty fun.
-She loves being a big sister

-Her feelings get hurt really easy. If you're being "unfair" she will more than likely throw a fit. But if you're just mean, she will walk away looking more like this:

-We went to Disney World this year and she got to hang out with some of her own kind :)

-She is a very picky eater, but eats pretty well when you trick her. For instance, she likes all meats, but if you call it anything other then 'chicken' she will automatically say she doesn't like it. So we tell her to try her 'chicken' and once we know she liked it, we give her the correct name. Whatever works right?

-Like I said before, she lives in her OWN princess world. Personally, I could watch her play all day because it's so darn cute! She is always the princess, and poor Lewis is always her "prince charming" (she really says that).

-If you know her, you probably know she's a pretty strong kid. She does pushups AND pullups better than Chauncey and I could ever imagine doing ourselves.

-Anything that happened in the past happened "last morning". "Mommmy, remember I went to the Disney last morning?" "It was my birthday last morning." You get the picture, right? It's hilarious, specially when she says (and often does) "I remember when I was born last morning." Hahahaha!
-We have a little neighbor who's about 2 years older than Lucia, but they love playing together. Lucia says She's her best friend. It's pretty cute. She likes to copy her 'best friend' a lot.

-She has a routine whenever we drop Chauncey off at school. She knows he'll be gone all day doing schoolwork. So he HAS to open her car door, gives her a kiss. Then Chauncey has to wait for it: she blows him several kisses, which he has to catch, then she says in a sad tone while trying to reach for him (to make it even more dramatic, I guess) "I will miss you daddy. Wish you could stay with me."

-She can be loud. She thinks people either whisper or talk REALLY loud. Some people have sensitive ears and are annoyed by it. I think its kinda cute. It shows off the other 50% of who she is. She is DOMINICAN. We're loud AND extremely outgoing. Both traits were inherited. So I apologize to those of you might consider her to be obnoxious because of their 'sensitive' hearing. I think she's perfect.
-simply put... my kid is awesome! There are no boring days around this one. She will turn your pout into a smile within milliseconds (if that exists).
- She has to match every piece of clothing. After I dress her I have to tell her what each piece of clothing matches with. From shoe to bow.

-Of course, like many other 3 year old girls she loves to dress up... ALL the time!

-Anyone who is partly undressed is a 'naked baby' to her. We were on a family walk ine night and a man rode his bike past us. He was shirtless. Lucia yells right next to him: "Looooook! He's a naked baby!!!!" The man looks, we look, he rides, we walk. Case closed :)

I will probably have to add more things in another post in a few months, because I could go on about her awesomeness for a while. SO to end this post, I'd like to say that she's sweet, loving, playful, LOUD, energetic, and the list could go on and on and on..... The 'u' in Lucia definitely stands for UNIQUE. I don't know anyone like her and I love it. WE love it. And WE love you Lucia! Happy Birthday! Keep being YOU baby!

Yup! Our little guy is now 9.5 months old (because I took so long to post this). He's been such a joy to have around. He is very loved by us all, including his big sister, Lucía. He is the most smiley, yummiest baby EVER!

Here are some fun and other not so fun things he does:

-He crawls since he was about 5-6 months (army, lizard-like kind of crawling). He has recently gained some speed too.

-Climbs up the stairs, stands up on furniture, and walks sideways along it.

-He cries whenever Chauncey or I leave the room (new experience for me)

-thinks his sister is HILARIOUS even when she's being rough with him

-He enjoys food. A LOT. His favorites are sweet potato and pears

-LOVE, LOVE, LOVES music! He loves to sing when we sing or when he hears music.

-he thinks he can talk. Whenever any of us are talking to each other, he joins in saying "eh! eh! eh!" Of course he's agreeing to anything I said :)

-he's very (like out of this world) sentimental. His feelings get hurt, he cries. If he can't reach a toy, he cries. He’s very dramatic.

-similarly, he's out of this world HAPPY! The kid is a blast. His laughter is so contagious it makes my cheeks hurt! love it!

-he has recently decided that big people food is yummier than his baby food.
