Our "almost" toddler

So this is a very short post... but I had to write something because I'm too excited! Today Lucia (10 months) managed to stand up on her own! She has stood up by holding on to furniture before, but this time she pushed herself off the floor... AND took her first step!!!! Thankfully, Chauncey and I were both in the room when it first happened. So we cheered for her like two crazy, proud parents! Of course, we startled her and she fell on her bum :)

Chauncey went off to work that afternoon. And when Lucia woke up from her nap, she remembered what she had learned and started standing and jumping on her feet, without holding on to anything! She did this for about 15 mins non-stop! She would get up and look at me, waiting for a cheer. And so I cheered! It was way fun for the both of us. Unfortunately, my camera was in the car, and I was watching a friend's baby and Lucia, so I have no pictures or recordings of that. But tomorrow I will wake up with my camera at hand and I promise pictures and maybe even a video ;)

Ahhhhh! I love my little girl...

Recent Happenings

So you all know by now that I'm not a very good blogger :P I update like, oh I dunno, once every 6 months! Anyway, we've done quite a few in the last couple of months. We took a trip down to Miami, where we celebrated Mother's Day a day early, Chauncey and I were able to have a mini getaway in South Beach, and Lucia had some fun in the sun (my sister has all the beach pics, sorry)! Before Florida I took Lucia to Willow Park zoo, out here in Cache valley, with some of her little friends.... Oh and I almost forgot! My friend, Claudia, had a baby boy, Maximo, and we also went to meet him! Here are just a few from many pictures taken....

Fun Stuff : )

So, Lucia is officially crawling and pulling herself up on tables, legs, whatever she can hold onto really! I was so scared because her favorite toy is the living room table... She stands on it and jumps like CRAZY! And I really think she looks like a cute, crazy baby :) She's not super strong yet, and so she falls and hurts her head about... 5-8 times a day!!! Yah! Scary...




So we got her a cute little jumper, which she likes, but doesn't prefer it over the awesome colorless and not-so-fun table! Anyway... She jumps extremely high on that thing! Here's a clip to show it... Don't mind my loud cheering in the background :P


We also did some fun stuff outside this Easter weekend... Lucia has been interacting and playing so much. She's just a blast to be around! Love her!! And I cannot imagine our lives without our sweet, wiggly baby :)

Chauncey, lately...

Chauncey got a new job at Thermo Fisher Scientific (I hope I spelled that right). He's been working there for about a month. It's a really good job. I am so grateful for him and all that he does for our little family. He goes to school and works, both full- time. I don't know how he does it, but he never complains. I don't know how to put into words how thankful I am for his hard work. I just love him more and more each day... I am so thankful that we can be an eternal family. I cannot picture my life without him, or even remember what it was like before I met him. I love you sooo much, baby!

My little princess...

Wow!! I am way behind with this blogging thing. I'm definitely not the best blogger around ;)
Anyway, I have to update a little bit about Lucia... She is trying really hard to crawl... super cute! She can't figure out how to crawl the "right way." Instead, she gets on her hands and knees and hops! I have to record her. I've been a bit lazy with my camera. It ran out of batteries! No excuse... I must get new batteries so I can capture these cute Lucia moments :).

I love her so much. She makes my day so much better. I wake up so tired each morning because I have to wake up with her in the middle of the night. But when she just starts jumping over me on the bed... I truly forget how tired I am and just enjoy her and all her new little things! I promise I will put up new pictures soon! In the mean time, I have some really cute pictures of our beautiful little girl!She just LOVES to smile at the camera. She could be crying, but as soon as I say "smile... a picture!" she looks at the camera and gives me a huge smile! So adorable!

It's snowy outside!

Yesterday was a nice snowy day. Chauncey came home from school and work early, so we decided to take Lucia outside for a few minutes to play in the snow. That way we could also take some pictures of her in it (for scrapbooking... if I ever get to it)! She was so happy in the snow! I guess it felt good on her skin when the cold flakes touched her face. SO cuuuuute!

A New Obsession!

Lucia's newest obsession is.... taking a bath!! Every day Lucia takes a bath at around noon. Now's that she's sitting with little support, she's been enjoying her warm baths while playing with her toys and splashing water everywhere with her hands!! It's soooo cute to watch. Two days ago I noticed she would cry once I pulled her out. And I thought 'could she really be crying because she didn't want her bath to be over?' So, I decided to do a little experiment. Everytime I brought her closer to her bath tub, she would start laughing and smiling with excitement, also trying to reach into the water! When I took her away fromt the water... she began to cry again!!! Today, I put her down to get her bath ready, and when she saw me walk in with the bath tub, she started kicking and getting all excited! She was also doing this as I undressed her for her bath. Finally I sat her in her little tub, and she was HAPPY as can be! She absolutely loves her bath!!! Here's a pic of her enjoying her bath (she might not look like she's enjoying it, but she loves it!):
